The Social Security Administration's 2022 period life table estimates that a 108-year-old female has a 55.6075% (about 1 in 2) probability of dying within one year. This is an annual, conditional probability for someone who has already reached age 108; it is not a lifetime probability from birth and not a personalized medical forecast.

SSA period life tables are based on mortality experience for the Social Security area population. At very advanced ages, the table reports high one-year death probabilities and short remaining period life expectancy. For 108-year-old females, the same table lists an average remaining period life expectancy of 1.23 more years.
