The CDC/NCHS figure table lists an age-adjusted mortality rate of 12.6 per 100,000 (about 1 in 7,937), with kidney disease accounting for 1.8% of all registered U.S. deaths in 2024.

This fact should be read as an annual population mortality rate, not a personal forecast. Age-adjusted rates are standardized to a reference population so analysts can compare years and groups without the comparison being distorted by different age structures.
